Taxonomy
Luochengella luochengensis was named by Liu and Zhu (1978). Its type specimen is Chengdu Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources, Sbi370 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Luocheng, Jianwei, which is in a Jurassic/Jurassic fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Ziliujing Formation of China. It is the type species of Luochengella.
