Taxonomy
Dipterus johnsoni was named by Bryant and Johnson (1936). It is not extant. Its type specimen is U. S. Nat. Mus. 13811, a tooth. Its type locality is Cross Mountain, which is in a Devonian peritidal sandstone in Colorado.
