Gervillia paronai was named by Broili (1904). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pachycardientuff Fauna, Seiser Alm, which is in a Longobardian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Cassian Formation of Italy.
It was recombined as Gervillella paronai by Waagen (1907).
