Taxonomy
Galeodea apta was named by Tegland (1931). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. A-6, Twin Rivers, Strait of Juan de Fuca, which is in an Oligocene marine shale in the Pysht Formation of Washington.
It was recombined as Echinophoria apta by Durham (1942), Durham (1944); it was recombined as Liracassis apta by Moore (1963), Moore (1984), Hendy (2020).
