Taxonomy
Percoideorum pseudatherina was named by Nolf and Bajpai (1992). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is IRSNB P 5948, an otolith, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nanggulan, northwest, which is in a Bartonian marine horizon in the Nanggulan Formation of Indonesia.
