Taxonomy
Zaprora koreana was named by Nam and Nazarkin (2019). Its type specimen is KIGAM 9A168, a partial skeleton (caudal region ), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Heunghae, which is in a Miocene marine shale in the Duho Formation of South Korea.
