Eomegastrophia ethica
Taxonomy
Megastrophia (Eomegastrophia) ethica was named by Cocks (1967). Its type specimen is GSM 102715, a valve (ventral internal mould), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 15. Stream outcrop near Morrellswood Farm, 2 km west of Little Wenlock, which is in an Aeronian marine shale/sandstone in the Pentamerus Beds Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Brachyprion (Eomegastrophia), Megastrophia (Eomegastrophia).
It was recombined as Brachyprion (Eomegastrophia) ethica by Harper and Boucot (1978) and Dewing (1999); it was recombined as Eomegastrophia ethica by Cocks (2019).
