Sowerbyites gildersleevei
Taxonomy
Sowerbyites gildersleevei was named by Cooper (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 117401z;, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tumbling Run, 1.5 miles southwest of Strasburg. 8 feet below Cybeloides bed., which is in an Ashbyan carbonate limestone in the Lincolnshire Formation of Virginia.
