Ramispongia was named by Quenstedt (1877) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bajo-u J Bath-l Sepkoski's reference number: 868]. It is not extant. Its type is Ramispongia ramosa.
It was assigned to Hexactinosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Euretinae by Finks et al. (2004).
