Bellimurina concentrica was named by Cooper (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 117650, a valve (pedicle valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pierce Mill, which is in a Blackriveran carbonate packstone/wackestone in the Pierce Limestone Formation of Tennessee.
