Taxonomy
Dendraster vizcainoensis similaris was named by Grant and Hertlein (1938). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Signal Hill (or Los Cerritos), which is in a Pleistocene marine horizon in the San Pedro Formation of California.
