Taxonomy
Arbacia waccamaw was named by Cooke (1941). Its type specimen is USNM 498888 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Little River, southwest, which is in a Pliocene marine horizon in the Waccamaw Formation of South Carolina.
