Parapanderodus arcuatus was named by Stouge (1984) [= Scolopodus cf. S . quadraplicatus Branson & Mehl. Bradshaw 1969 , p . 1163 , Pl. 132 : 8-9 ; Fig. 4, Nos . E, F = Scolopodus gracilis Ethington & Clark. Barnes & Poplawski 1973. pp. 786-787, Pl. 3 : 8 , 8a only; Fig. H .]. Its type specimen is ROM 39681, a set of teeth, and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Parapanderodus.
