Allognathosuchus polyodon

Taxonomy
Diplocynodus polyodon was named by Cope (1873). Its type specimen is U.S.N.M. No. 4112, a mandible (left ramus of a lower jaw), and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Allognathosuchus.

It was recombined as Crocodilus polyodon by Cope (1882); it was recombined as Crocodylus polyodon by Hay (1902); it was recombined as Allognathosuchus polyodon by Mook (1921), Case (1925), Hay (1930), Simpson (1930), Mook (1961), Brochu (1999) and Brochu (2004).
