Taxonomy
Bolitesia was named by Schrammen (1912) [Sepkoski's age data: K u]. It is not extant. Its type is Bolitesia mirabilis. It is the type genus of Bolitesiinae.

It was assigned to Lychniscosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Bolitesiinae by Finks et al. (2004).
