Taxonomy
Giraliaster bellissae was named by Foster and Philip (1978). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Awamoko Creek near Rams Head, which is in a Waitakian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Otekaike Limestone Formation of New Zealand.
