Cassidulus (Rhynchopygus) evergladensis was named by Mansfield (1932). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Station 1/1177, Tamiami Trail, Caloosahatchee Fm., Collier County, FL, which is in a Pleistocene marine limestone in the Caloosahatchee Formation of Florida.
It was recombined as Cassidulus (Cassidulus) evergladensis by Cooke (1942).
