Taxonomy
Abyssochrysos raui was named by Goedert and Kaler (1996). Its type specimen is LACMIP 12363, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CSUN Loc. 1583 - Humptulips River [Humptulips Fm], which is in a Lutetian deep subtidal siltstone/sandstone in the Humptulips Formation of Washington.
It was recombined as Humptulipsia raui by Kiel (2008).
