Taxonomy
Caballasea segmentata was named by Devries (2019). Its type specimen is UWBM 107606, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is B8769, which is in a Ypresian coastal sandstone in Peru. It is the type species of Caballasea.
