Taxonomy
Gervilleia koatensis was named by Krumbeck (1924). It is not extant. Its type locality is Fatu Koat, Baun (Red Limestone), which is in an Olenekian/Anisian carbonate limestone in the Cephalopod Limestone Formation of Indonesia.
