Cerithiopsis pustuloclathrata was named by Darragh (2017). Its type specimen is WAM 69.136, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Walpole, north, which is in a Priabonian offshore siltstone in the Werillup Formation of Australia.
