Taxonomy
Guimarotodon was named by Hahn (1969). Its type is Guimarotodon leiriensis.
It was assigned to Paulchoffatiinae by Hahn (1993), Kielan-Jaworowska and Hurum (2001), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004); and to Paulchoffatiidae by Clemens and Kielan-Jaworowska (1979), McKenna and Bell (1997), Yuan et al. (2013).
It was assigned to Paulchoffatiinae by Hahn (1993), Kielan-Jaworowska and Hurum (2001), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004); and to Paulchoffatiidae by Clemens and Kielan-Jaworowska (1979), McKenna and Bell (1997), Yuan et al. (2013).
