Taxonomy
Aviculopecten interruptus was named by Bittner (1902). It is not extant. Its type locality is Grk, Čevljanovići Manganese Mine, which is in a Triassic carbonate limestone in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It was recombined as Ornithopecten interruptus by Friesenbichler et al. (2019).
