Trigonia jacksonensis was named by Packard (1921). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dark Hollow [lower Pacheco Group], which is in an Albian/Cenomanian marine sandstone in California.
It was recombined as Rutitrigonia jacksonensis by Cox (1952).
