Taxonomy

Keyserlingites was named by Hyatt (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-u Tr Anis-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302,1066]. Its type is Ceratites subrobustus. It is the type genus of Keyserlingitidae.

It was reranked as Ceratites (Keyserlingites) by Diener (1907).

It was assigned to Ceratites by Diener (1907); to Keyserlingitinae by Tozer (1994); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Sibiritidae by Spath (1934), Kummel (1969) and Brayard et al. (2009); and to Keyserlingitidae by Smyshlyaeva and Zakharov (2017).

Synonyms

Robustites was named by Philippi (1901). Its type is Ceratites subrobustus.

It was synonymized objectively with Keyserlingites by Spath (1934) and Kummel (1969).
Keyserlingites (Durgaites) was named by Diener (1905). Its type is Ceratites dieneri.

It was reranked as Durgaites by Spath (1934); it was synonymized subjectively with Keyserlingites by Tozer (1994).

It was assigned to Keyserlingites by Diener (1905); and to Sibiritidae by Spath (1934).
