Taxonomy
Fissuridea subelliptica was named by Nomland (1916). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. 2664, which is in a Pliocene marginal marine sandstone/conglomerate in the Jacalitos Formation of California.
It was recombined as Diodora subelliptica by Grant and IV and Gale (1931).
