Bonellitia (Admetula) tumida was named by Hickman (1980). Its type specimen is USNM 251421, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Columbia (USGS 25031) - Hickman (1980), which is in a Priabonian deep-water siltstone/mudstone in the Keasey Formation of Oregon.
