Taxonomy
Terebratula sufflata was named by Verneuil (1855). It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Terebratula elongata by Howse (1857); it was recombined as Spirigera sufflata by Bittner (1890) and Münster (1890); it was recombined as Spirigera sufflata by Broili (1904); it was recombined as Spirigera (Diplospirella) sufflata by Bittner (1912); it was recombined as Diplospirella sufflata by Benigni and Ferliga (1990).
