Taxonomy
Lepidospirifer miyakei was named by Tazawa and Shen (1997). It is not extant. Its type specimen is NU-B85. Its type locality is Ryomenkutsu, Hiyomo, Kohachigagawa Valley, which is in an Ufimian/Kubergandian carbonate limestone in Japan.
