Cymatosaurus latifrons
Taxonomy
Nothosaurus latifrons was named by Gürich (1884). Its type specimen is SMNS 10109 (neotype), a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gogoliner Schichten, Muschelkalk, Chorzow, which is in an Anisian marginal marine mixed carbonate-siliciclastic in the Wellenkalk Formation of Poland.
It was recombined as Cymatosaurus latifrons by Kuhn (1971), Rieppel (1997), Sander et al. (2014).
