Taxonomy
Sarophora was named by Schrammen (1912) [Sepkoski's age data: K Apti K Camp-u Sepkoski's reference number: 622,1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Sarophora armata.

It was assigned to Lychniscosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Becksinae by Finks et al. (2004).
