Taxonomy
Voluta martini was named by Dickerson (1915). Its type specimen is CAS 360, a partial shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 244, Live Oak Canyon, which is in an Eocene marginal marine sandstone/shale in the Tejon Formation of California.
