Taxonomy
Careoseptum septentrionalis was named by Carter and Poletaev (1998). It is not extant. Its type locality is GSC C5202, Stepanow Creek, Hare Fiord Formation, Ellesmere Island, which is in a Bashkirian/Moscovian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Hare Fiord Formation of Canada.
