Neospirifer kalashnikovi was named by Waterhouse (2004). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Geological Survey of India, K32.661. Its type locality is Scarp slopes NW of Bilot, Trans-Indus Range, which is in a Wordian/Capitanian marine horizon in Pakistan.
