Cancellaria fernandoensis was named by Arnold (1907). Its type specimen is USNM 164956, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Cancellaria tritonidea fernandoensis by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was recombined as Euclia fernandoensis by Hendy (2020).
