Acuetzpalin carranzai
Taxonomy
Acuetzpalin carranzai was named by Barrientos-Lara and Alvarado-Ortega (2020). Its type specimen is IGM 0001, a skeleton (skull and axial skeleton, preserving part of the right pectoral girdle and left forelimb), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro de Palotes, which is in a Kimmeridgian marine siltstone/limestone in the La Casita Formation of Mexico. It is the type species of Acuetzpalin.
