Phasianella compta was named by Gould (1855). It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 6190, a shell.
It was recombined as Phasianella (Tricolia) compta by Oldroyd (1925); it was recombined as Tricolia compta by DeLong (1941); it was recombined as Eulithidium comptum by Hendy (2021).
