Eoastrion simplex
Taxonomy
Eoastrion simplex was named by Barghoorn (1965). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Harvard Univ. 58277, K-4-Z and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 1.2 km northwest of Kakabeka Falls, which is in an Orosirian basinal (siliceous) chert in the Gunflint Chert Formation of Canada.
