Taxonomy
Neptunea (Sulcosipho) eatoni was named by Grant, IV and Quayle (1934). Its type specimen is UCLA 3385, a shell, and it is a cast. Its type locality is UCLA Loc. 477, Earnest's Canyon, Caliente Mountains, which is in a Miocene marine sandstone in the Temblor Formation of California.
