Vellbergia bartholomaei
Taxonomy
Vellbergia bartholomaei was named by Sobral et al. (2020). Its type specimen is SMNS 91590, a partial skull (partial skull exposed in left-lateral view), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vellberg-Eschenau, which is in a Longobardian estuary/bay claystone in the Erfurt Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Vellbergia.
