Palaeosiphonella cloudii

Taxonomy
Palaeosiphonella cloudii was named by Licari (1978). Its type specimen is thin section C682(1) from the Cloud Collection, Biogeology Clean Laboratory, University of California, Santa Barbara. Coordinates (40.0, 7.3) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 3 of 8/11/68, which is in a Tonian marine chert/dolomite in the Beck Spring Formation of California.

Licari 1978As for genus, presumed pri- mary filaments range from 30 μ,m to SO μ,m diameter (mean 38 μ,m for 43 filaments mea- sured); lateral and presumed lateral branches average 13 μ,m (median 22 μ,m for 25 filaments measured). Observed thickness of walls 1-2 μ,m. Surface texture smooth to granular. See Table 2 for salient morphologic data.
