Taxonomy
Mangilia (Taranis) strongi was named by Arnold (1903). Its type specimen is USNM 162549, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Taranis strongi by Clark (1931) and Faustman (1964); it was recombined as Decollidrillia strongi by Hendy (2020) and Hendy (2021).
