Taxonomy
Scoyenia gracilis was named by White (1929). It is not extant. Its type locality is Hermit Shale, Along Bright Angel Trail, which is in an Artinskian/Kungurian fluvial shale/sandstone in the Hermit Shale Formation of Arizona. It is the type species of Scoyenia.
