Arumberia banksi was named by Glaessner and Walter (1975). It is not extant. Its type locality is Loc. 1, Arumbera S.stone Fm, Laura Creek, - Glaessner and Walter 1975, which is in an Ediacaran transition zone/lower shoreface sandstone in the Arumbera Sandstone Formation of Australia.
