Taxonomy
Echinogalerus raingeardi was named by Tessier and Roman (1973). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R06426 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Falaises de Fresco, bed 2-5 undivided, which is in a Ypresian marine sandstone in the Falaises de Fresco Formation of Cote D'Ivoire.
