Taxonomy
Plesiolampas saharae was named by Bather (1904). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.A26282, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Garadimi, Sokoto, which is in a Paleocene carbonate limestone in Niger.
