Taxonomy
Bauchioceras tricarinatum was named by Reyment (1954) [DISTRIBUTION: Turonian; Western Africa.]. Its type specimen is BMNH C. 47281, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Gulani (Reyment collection), which is in a Turonian carbonate limestone in Nigeria.

It was recombined as Pseudotissotia (Bauchioceras) nigeriensis tricarinata by Barber (1957).
