Taxonomy
Tydeus albyi was named by Sauvage (1870). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Licata, which is in a Messinian marine horizon in Italy.

It was recombined as Anapterus albyi by Sauvage (1873); it was recombined as Paralepis albyi by Arambourg (1925), Arambourg (1927), Gaudant et al. (1996), Gaudant et al. (2006), Carnevale (2007), Legendre et al. (2020) and Argyriou (2022).
