Taxonomy
Malletia packardi was named by Clark (1918). Its type specimen is UCMP 11154, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Yoldia (Portlandia) packardi by Clark (1925); it was recombined as Portlandia (Portlandia) packardi by Moore (1983) and Hall (2002).
