Pecten (Chlamys) cornwalli was named by Clark and Arnold (1923). Its type specimen is UCMP 30059 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kirby Creek, east, which is in a Chattian marine sandstone in the Sooke Formation of Canada.
